Thorp Ghiggeri
Field Agent... K9 Handler
"It is a grief and panic unlike anything I had ever experienced... I fully understand what
you are going through right now." ~Jordina
Independent, courageous and reliable is the way most people would
describe Jordina Thorp Ghiggeri. Born in Canada and raised on a farm, who first loves were horses and dogs. As a young girl
her love of horses made her determined to pursue a life working in partnership with the equines she adored. As an adolescent,
she struck out on her own, found a trainer in Canada, and begin to pursue her dream by working at the trainer's
barn in exchange for lessons. At seventeen, she decided to spend a summer in the United States as a working equestrian student
but when the time came for her to return to Canada she made an adult decision to stay in the U.S. and work towards becoming
a professional equestrian. Ghiggeri achieved her dream and sixteen years later, is a well known and respected trainer
and instructor in the professional hunter/jumper world.
As a
professional equestrian, Ghiggeri traveled the world, always accompanied by her Welsh Corgi, Andy. Inseparable,
the two went everywhere together. Then at a New Year's gathering, crisis struck when a neighbor let off fireworks frightening
Andy. The eleven year old Corgi bolted into the night and disappeared. Thus began a search that would ultimately change Ghiggeri's
life.
As the search for Andy progressed, the grief
stricken Ghiggeri searched the Internet looking for a professional who could help her with the search. After
hiring another K9 handler who was unable to move the search forward, a volunteer found Karin TarQwyn. As the search continued Ghiggeri
came to recognize and admire the partnership between TarQwyn and her tracking dog team. Drawn to finding ways to help
others going through what she was experiencing in her own search, she asked if she could help with TarQwyn's dog team. It
was only a matter of time before she and Brodie paired up and began to work together. Nash and then Ruckus joined her team.
Today, Ghiggeri is a full time Field Agent and K9 Handler specializing
in missing and lost dogs. Based in Connecticut, she and her K9 team travel the U.S. helping families find and recover their
canine family members.
You saved our dog's life... "I need to say thank you so much for helping us find our Mickey, he really is a part of our
family and we cannot thank you enough for trekking through woods and countless neighborhoods with me showing me the way to
my dog. He is home now and safe and very very exhausted! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!!" Hillary Dees
